Monochrome Winter Style and #metoo

Can someone please tell me what is happening in the world today? I feel like every day I wake up and someone new has disturbing allegations coming out. It’s appalling to thinking that people we once supported, admired and looked up to are guilty of such serious claims. I’m not here to preach or stand on a soapbox. We all know that no one has the right to take advantage of someone else. It’s not rocket science, its emotional intelligence.

When #MeToo started flooding my feeds, I felt like I couldn’t relate. I’ve been lucky to never have been sexually harassed (or worse). I say lucky but my lack of abuse should be the norm. Sadly, it is not. Woman and men I admire have suffered in silence and it’s heartbreaking. I have nothing to give them, nothing to add, only my support. People deserve to live their life free from the harm of others.

It’s amazing and courageous that so many people have turned the light on abuse. Hopefully, it will make people second guess their inappropriate behaviour and make people accountable for their actions. It’s so prevalent that there’s even a public march being held at Queens Park on December 2nd and in other major cities (check out Facebook for events near you). Hopefully, coming together will help people remember that there are legitimate victims behind the half a million tags (on Instagram alone). We need to do better. Go home and hug your babies. Raise them to be respectful, loving and kind. Let’s actually make progress out of this groundswell of support.

Okay, I’ve vented. I’ll get back to my usual business, fashion! This is one of my favorite monochromatic outfits at the moment. Here I wore my (now a staple) gold flats but this outfit is even cuter with these over the knee boots. It gives it the typical laid back, fall vibe that all girls love.

I`ve been trying to embrace the cold over the last couple of weeks because our autumn is so short! In past years I`ve tried to hold on to summer so long, I end up skipping fall altogether. Which sucks because the style is cozy, chic and super comfortable.

It`s too bad that the weather has been so bipolar. We didn`t get the changing of the colours we`re used to. Last year, I took Taylor to the Riverdale Park and we had a fun little photoshoot in the leaves. This year, the sea of green and yellow didn`t have the same pop. Oh well, we always have next year!

I’m sorry this post got a little more dark them the usual fluff but life isn’t always an Archie comic, sometimes it’s a little more Riverdale.
